Victory in Christ!

Someone tried to debate with me about not having the victory in Christ now and we will only have it when we go to heaven. WHY? They say because we still sin. They even believe that we are only overcomers IF, we hold on till the end.

There are too many believers in Christ who are living a defeated life just by believing the lies of Satan.

1 John 5: 4 - For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Many Christians and I am referring to the true believers in Christ, actually believe that one must maintain or attain salvation by holding on. The bible teaches we are saved by grace through faith and NOT our own. Salvation is not from us not even a little bit, least any man shall boast. Ephesian 2:8-10

Looking at verse 10 - For we are his workmanship, (Handiwork) created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

I don’t want to bring 2 topics in one but I have to say it so we can understand it.

This is something simple I just wanted to share.

1.     Victory was won at the cross. We were all slaves to unrighteousness, understand the curse, the wrath of God, as believers we are now slaves to righteousness, under the blessing and promises of God.

2.     Since we have now been set free from the power of sin, the dictates of the flesh we can live in victory.

3.     God put victor in our reach, not in our hand, but we have it.

4.     We are overcomers just by the holy spirit dwelling in us. Peter confirmed in 2 Peter 1:3-4 - His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5.     As Christians it is so easy to think we are left to do things on our own but the holy spirit is in the mist every step of the way, shaping us and conforming us into the image of Christ.

After all, do the scriptures not say, we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthen us? With all this is mind, we us remember, we have everything, the victory, the overcoming, everything, let us walk where it becomes experiential in our lives. FAITH and FOLLOW.
