Experiencing the Joy of the Lord

Image
The bible says the joy of the Lord is our strength. This isn't just any joy; it's a divine joy, joy that fills us up when we are empty, joy that lifts us up when we are down, and joy that gives us strength when we feel weak. The enemy, he's going to try to steal this joy from us. He'll throw challenges, doubts, and fears our way. But our joy doesn't come from the world, it comes from the Lord!  It's a joy that's everlasting, unchanging, and unbreakable. When we focus on God's goodness, His love, and His promises, we are building a life on a foundation that cannot be shaken. Our joy becomes a beacon of light, driving out darkness and confusion. Therefore, we stand strong in that joy, knowing that it's a gift from God that no one can take away from us. Let Your Heart Overflow with Gratitude One of the best ways to maintain our joy is having a heart of gratitude. When we look back at God’s faithfulness towards us and start counting our blessings we will

Finding God in a lost world

The book of Acts contains a fantastic picture of looking for God (Acts 8:25-40). In the book of Acts, scripture shows an Ethiopian eunuch while riding in a chariot was reading about the prophecy of Christ in Isaiah (53:7-8), but he didn't grasp what he was reading. The man was on the lookout for God. God reacted by sending a man named Philip to meet the eunuch and explain the significance of the verse. As a result, the eunuch discovered God. He was convinced that Jesus Christ died for his sins. Jesus did everything necessary for him to be forgiven of his sins, escape torment, and enter heaven (Acts 8:35-39). This true-life event reveals that God knows if you are searching for Him, He will reveal Himself to you. God knows if you want to find Him. Are you looking for God? If so, God will help you find Him. If you are in search of God, you should know that God the Holy Spirit is drawing you to Himself. He wants a relationship with you. God  loves you  and has made it possible for you

Striving for a spiritual mindset

Image
Romans 8:6 -   For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.   For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot.   Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. In Romans 8:6, Paul highlights the importance of being spiritually minded above being motivated by the flesh, claiming that the former leads to life and peace. Being spiritually minded entails focusing on matters of the spiritual and nurturing spiritual desires rather than worldly desires. The natural man exists solely to gratify the desires of the flesh, whereas the spiritual Christian exists solely to gratify the things of the Spirit. So, what exactly does it mean to be spiritually minded?   1.   We are to live for the gospel.    As Christians our lives revolve around the gospel. The Holy Spirit dwells in us, creating a new life when we place our trust in Christ Jesus and His sacrificial work for our sins.

THE GREAT "I AM" IN CHRIST

Image
I am ACCEPTED: I am God’s child (John 1:12) I am Christ’s friend (John 15:15) I have been justified (Romans 5:1) I am united with the Lord and one with Him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17) I have been bought with a price—I belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:20) I am a member of Christ’s body (1 Corinthians 12:27) I am a saint (Ephesians 1:1) I have been adopted as God’s child (Ephesians 1:5) I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:18) I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins (Colossians 1:14) I am complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10) I am SECURE: I am free from condemnation (Romans 8:1,2) I am assured that all things work together for good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28) I am free from any condemning charges against me (Romans 8:31-34) I cannot be separated from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39) I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God (2 Corinthians 1:21,22) I am hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3) I am confident that the good work that

Who should we pray to?

Image
SHOULD WE PRAY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT? Should believers to pray directly to the Holy Spirit without mentioning God the Father or Jesus Christ? The answer is no. Believers are not to speak directly, or pray, to the Holy Spirit and I will show you why. The Holy Spirit Does Not Speak of Himself For one thing, it is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to speak of Jesus Christ. He does not speak of Himself. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit was given to remind His disciples of the things which He said . But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you John 14:26  The Holy Spirit which was sent by the authority of God the Father was given to testify to Jesus Christ, not Himself In addition, we are told that He will not speak on His own initiative. Jesus said. Jesus made it clear that the Holy Spirit is His representative. He does not present His own ideas or speak on His initiativ

Pride Vs Humility

Everyone likes to take selfies, whether of themselves, with someone they know or even with a celebrity. That is great. However, there are other types of selfies, and these are what I like to call selfies of pride. To  name a few, there is self-gratification, self-justification, self-denial, self-security, self-absorbed, self-righteous, self- perseverance, self-exaltation. just to name a few. Not only do these types of selfies hinder our spiritual growth, it takes our focus off God and places dependency on self. Ironic, the only “good selfie” is self-control, and that only comes from depending on God.  The real question is, how does God see these? When we pray do we ask God to rid us of pride or do we pray selfishly? Even when we try to conceal pride we must remember God sees the pride of our heart. Pride is SIN and if not dealt with can lead to shame, strife, ruin, and other negative consequences. Our goal is to please God, to exalt him and magnify him, not ourselves. Here are

The God Who Speaks

Image
Can you imagine living in a world in which God is silent, and all the questions about life go unanswered? Why am I here? Do I have a purpose in life? How can I understand a world filled with such beauty, yet, filled with such evil? What will happen when I die? Is there any hope for me after I’m gone or is this it? Thank God, he is not silent, and he has not left us alone with unanswered questions. God has in fact, revealed himself to us throughout history and has graciously made himself known to us. God desires a relationship with his creation God revealed himself to the Israelites in the Old Testament as part of the kind and enduring bond he established with them through his covenants with Abraham, Moses, and David. God described himself as "merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness" In the New Testament, the culmination of God's revelation is his Son, Jesus. God no longer speaks to us through prophets but through his son. (H
