Seeking spiritual growth through obedience and discipline

Image
God has an excellent plan for your life but to implement this plan, you must learn to walk in obedience and live a disciplined, God-centered life.                           Is God’s plan for you attainable? You must Immerse yourself in the study of God's Word. Jesus stated, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed" John 8:31. To abide in God's Word, you must read it, study it, and meditate on it. It must become what your heart is filled of, so that when life squeezes you, the Word of God emerges. The degree to which you succeed in attaining God's purpose for your life is directly proportional to how much you submit to Jesus as Lord. In Luke 6:46, Jesus asked, "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?" Knowing about Jesus, becoming acquainted with Jesus, or even addressing Jesus as "Lord" is never enough. Your hearts must be obedience to what he says.   Obedience will move you forward in you

How can Christians stay encouraged during circumstances or situations beyond their control?

Image
When our thoughts turn to worry, fear, discouragement, and anger, we are to consciously and quickly turn every thought into prayer and every prayer into thanksgiving. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul commands us to stop being anxious and instead, “in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6). He taught the believers at Colossae to devote themselves “to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2). Paul exhorted the Ephesian believers to see prayer as a weapon to use in fighting spiritual battles (Ephesians 6:18). As we go through the day, prayer should be our first response to every fearful situation, every anxious thought, and every undesired task that God commands. A lack of prayer will cause us to depend on ourselves instead of depending on God’s grace. Unceasing prayer is, in essence, continual dependence upon and communion with the Father. For Christians, prayer should be like breathing. You do not h

Is eternal security in Christ some fanciful concept or biblical truth?

Image
Why do some Christians believe a child of God can lose salvation when the promises of eternal life are all based on what Christ did at the cross? As believers in Christ, we must understand our position in Christ. There is nothing we can, or ever will do to earn or attain Salvation. Not only did Christ pay it all, but planned it from the beginning, so to be HIS, then not HIS, is saying what he did was not sufficient. Salvation is solely based on what Christ did at the cross. Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. therefore, we are eternally secure in Christ because of our position in Christ. This new identity profoundly impacts our relationship with God and our families, as well as our perspective on the world. Because of our new identity in Christ, we now have the same relationship with God that Christ does—we are His children. God has taken us in as sons. We might address Him as "Abba! Father!" We are both joint heirs and Christ's friend. And this bond is ev

What Is the Human Spirit?

Image
Receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior is a significant event. But have you ever wondered what happens next? The good news is that being saved is only the first step in your Christian walk. There is so much more to being a Christian! Jesus Christ is now alive within you, and He desires to develop a personal relationship with you. To accomplish this, you need to understand the importance of your human spirit, as stated in the Bible. Although many people misinterpret humans as being spirit beings, we actually have a human spirit but we are not a spirit. The Bible makes several references to man having a human spirit. In Genesis 2:7, the Bible states that God created humans with three components, including a spirit. "God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul." God created man's physical body from the dust of the ground. Then God breathed into his nostrils, and he became a living soul. This,

Victory in Christ!

Someone tried to debate with me about not having the victory in Christ now and we will only have it when we go to heaven. WHY? They say because we still sin. They even believe that we are only overcomers IF, we hold on till the end. There are too many believers in Christ who are living a defeated life just by believing the lies of Satan. 1 John 5: 4 - For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Many Christians and I am referring to the true believers in Christ, actually believe that one must maintain or attain salvation by holding on. The bible teaches we are saved by grace through faith and NOT our own. Salvation is not from us not even a little bit, least any man shall boast. Ephesian 2:8-10 Looking at verse 10 - For we are his workmanship, (Handiwork) created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. I don’t want to bring 2 topics in one but I hav

Experiencing Strength, Purpose And Power!

Image
Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This amazing verse contains an inexhaustible supply of strength and hope. It expresses the unwavering resilience granted to us when we connect our will with faith in Christ. This strength serves not only to overcome difficulties, but also to accomplish our goals and purposes. When we confront seemingly insurmountable challenges, this verse encourages us to look beyond our own strengths and rely on the strength that comes from our relationship with God. It teaches us that with faith, our potential is endless, and our success is not a result of our efforts, but of the divine power that guides and sustains us. The world may bring trials and tribulations that can easily overwhelm us and we may face difficulties in our work, or even struggles within ourselves, however, this verse tells us that we are not alone on our journey. Whether we're chasing dreams or tackling challenges, we're not alone.  Christ

Experiencing the Work of the Paraclete

I n Romans 7:14-25 Paul tackles the relationship between the law of God and human sinfulness. He is making it clear that those who are in Christ have been released from any obligation to the law of Moses. This is for the same reason that we have been released from our slavery to sin: We died, and death breaks those obligations. Those in Christ are associated with His physical death and resurrection and by that we experience a spiritual death and are resurrected into a new spiritual life. This is how we are freed from our responsibility to the law. Paul was also describing his experience of wanting to do what was right but found himself doing what is sinful instead. This shows we, even as believers cannot carry out the law in our own strength but through the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. Pls note this is for believers in Christ. Unbelievers do not have the Holy Spirit in them, nor have they been set free from the power of sin. Paul said what a Wretched Man that I am. Who can
